Mugabe scribbles a tragic scenario

Our October 2001 cover story asked if there was light at the end of the tunnel in Zimbabwe following the Abuja accord wherein the government had pledged to end farm occupations among other things. Sadly, since then, the flicker of light seems to have been almost extinguished. Tom Nevin revisits Zimbabwe to asses the situation post Abuja and finds a desperate scenario being scripted on the hoof.
