Dr Virginia Anohu
Dr Virginia Anohu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, MGSL, Lagos Dr Anohu is Nigeria’s leading Mortgage Banker and a very senior veteran pan-African Banker with top strategic management experiences from Diamond Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), First City Monument Bank, Guardian Express Bank and now the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Mortgage Guaranty Savings and Loans Limited (MGSL) with its headquarters in Abuja. Virginia Anohu is on the Board of Universal Service Provision Board of the Nigerian Communication Commission. She is a Board member of the Premium Pension Limited. Dr Anohu who is a literary scholar has a passion for poetry and has written, directed and produced many plays and novels. She is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Harvard Business School Executive Education Programmes. She holds a Doctorate in Linguistic Strategies.
Aissa Hidoussi
Aissa Hidoussi, CEO, Best Lease, Tunis Aissa Hidoussi is one of Tunisia’s leading bankers. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Best Lease, Mr. Hidoussi was Vice president and Managing Director of Best Bank (Banque de Financement Tuniso-Saoudienne). Aissa Hidoussi has held senior executive and MD positions at a number of top international banks including Union Internationale de Banques (Crédit Lyonnais Tunisie), Banque de Coopération du Maghreb Arabe (B.C.M.A.), Banque de Tunisie et des Emirats d’Investissement (B.T.E.I.) , Banque Nationale de Développement Agricole (BNDA).and Banque de l'Habitat. He was also assigned the role of State secretary in charge of privatisations and public enterprises. Earlier in his career, Mr Hidoussi worked for both the IMF and the Food Agricultural Organisation. Mr Hidoussi graduated from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Tunis (IHEC), majoring top of his class and is an MBA graduate from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion de Tunis.
Koosum Kalyan
Koosum Kalyan, Chairman, Kgontsi Holdings South Africa Koosum Kalyan is one of Africa’s most admired and successful businesswomen. She joined Shell South Africa in 1990 and held various positions within the company. Currently, Kalyan is Senior Business Development Manager Africa Exploration Oil and Gas at Shell International London. Additionally, Koosum is Adviser to the Department of Public Enterprises/South Africa on restructuring of State Owned Enterprises and Infrastructure Development in Africa. Kalyan has advised several African governments on planning processes and had been appointed adviser to Prime Minister Blair’s Commission for Africa. She is a member of the board of South African Airways, MTN Group Ltd, South Africa Business Trust, South African Bank Note Company, South African Mint Company, UK/SA Business Initiative London, Kgonsti Holdings Pty Ltd., Mcdonald Steel Standard Bank Group and of the Talberg Foundation, Sweden. Mrs. Kalyan has a BComm (Law) (Hons Economics) and has absolved the Senior Executive Management Program of the London Business School and the Shell Leadership Management Program.
Nkosana Moyo
Nkosana Moyo, Chairman, Actis Africa Advisory Board Nkosana Moyo has served on the boards of companies in the cement, sugar, finance, tourism and food sectors. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Investment Climate Facility (ICF) and the Africa Regional Advisory Boards of Unilever and Chairman of the London Business School, board for Africa. Nkosana Moyo has a PhD in physics from Imperial College and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He is a World Economic Forum Global Leader of Tomorrow (GLT), and an Eisenhower Fellow.
Christopher Hartland-Peel
Christopher Hartland-Peel, Head of Africa Equity Research, Exotix Christopher Hartland-Peel joined Exotix in November 2006 as Africa equity researcher. He has specialised in African stock markets and corporates since 1990 and in 1996 authored “African Equities” published by Euromoney. On joining Exotix, Christopher Hartland-Peel brought his extensive research data base on African stock markets and companies which enables in-depth fundamental research to be carried out together with historical data on exchange rates, inflation, interest rates and stock market indices. Christopher Hartland-Peel qualifies as a chartered accountant during the 1970’s and has worked with IFC, USAID and Standard Bank of South Africa. Christopher has worked on many African IPO’s and was also instrumental in developing the Kenyan commercial paper market during the 1990’s.
Lionel Zinsou
Lionel Zinsou, Managing Partner, Private Equity firm PAI, Paris Mr Lionel Zinsou is Managing Partner of the Private Equity firm PAI since July 2008. Prior to PAI, he has been since 1997 General Partner of Rothschild et Cie, the investment bank. He was Head of the global Consumer Products Group, and Head of Middle East and Africa. Lionel Zinsou started his professional career as a lecturer in economics at Paris University (Paris XIII and Ecole Normale Supérieure) and a member of the Department of Industry Minister’s Office, and the Prime Minister’s Office. In 1986 and until 1997 he had joined Danone where he held various positions as Financial Controller, Corporate Development Director and then CEO of the grocery division. Lionel Zinsou graduated in economics from Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) and the London School of Economics and a “professeur agrégé de sciences économiques et sociales”. Lionel Zinsou is a citizen of both France and Benin. He acts as Special Advisor of the President of the Republic of Benin.
