Your cover story on Africa’s World Beaters has performed an immense service in enlightening the world that there is far more to our continent than the usual images of starving children needing charity! For those of us who live and work in Europe or the US, articles such as these (and many thanks to the Boston Consulting Group as well) make us feel proud to be African. When we read that the African Lions (eight countries) are doing as well as the BRIC nations – something that I was never aware of – our hopes are raised that one day, and soon, we shall see a transformed Africa taking its rightful place on the top table of the world. Articles such as these, and the highly professional manner in which they are written and presented, are also vital for our children, who often feel overwhelmed by the negative stereotypes they see in the popular media.
